Established in 1949,  Fraunhofer society is one of Germany’s biggest application-focused research institutes. One of Fraunhofer society’s main goals is excellence in research.

At the Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems, Professor Ralf Wehrspohn and his highly qualified team have an interesting research challenge. The quality of toothbrushes and toothpastes is the object. While they have a lot of data and images to analyse, it simply is not possible to analyze everything. Fraunhofer tackles this common problem by building models based on part of the images.

When Professor Wehrspohn heard about APEER and the possibilities a cloud-based computational platform offers, he and his team decided to leverage the power of automation. Together with APEER developers they established a Workflow that enables Fraunhofer to analyze all the images and achieve more accurate results. More than that, Professor Wehrspohn is happy that his team can now concentrate on more important tasks.
